Boy’s Fall Bedroom Refresh with Angela Muller

Hi there! I’m Angela from Restoring Home. A total homebody, I am mom to four kids, who I homeschool, and our dog, Rocky. We’ve lived in our current home for a little more than two years and are slowly fixing it up in our free time.

Fall is my favorite season. There’s nothing like enjoying the crisp air while wearing your favorite hoodie with a hot chai in your hand! I LOVE that it gets dark early because it means bedtime comes a little sooner, so I get more quiet time at the end of the night.

One of my favorite ways to welcome fall is with fresh, new bedding. I want our home to be a haven and our bedrooms to be cozy places to retreat to each night. With this in mind, I choose bedding specifically for the person who will use it. My teenage son’s bedroom is in the basement and he tends to run cold in general anyway, so I decided to create layers of warmth for him. To start, I chose the Velvet Flannel Sheets and duvet cover from The Company Store® because they are exactly the type of bedding you want to slip into on a crisp fall night!

For additional warmth, I chose three different layers from The Company Store® – the Washable Wool Blanket, the Gossamer Blanket, and the Alpaca Stripe Throw.  The Washable Wool Blanket’s lightweight lambswool blend is soft and warm without being too bulky. The Gossamer Blanket has three layers of lightweight gauzy cotton, making it light enough to use all year long. The Alpaca Stripe Throw on the end of his bed is made from 100 percent yarn-dyed alpaca making it perfect for snuggling or to fight off the chill when fall turns to winter.

For when his older sister stops in to chat, I added the white Belgium Linen Fringed Throw over the chair to wrap up in when they’re spending time in there. It’s 100% linen and perfect for year-round use, not to mention I absolutely love the fringed detail!

Of course, no bedroom refresh is complete without some new throw pillows, right?! 🙂 I love the look of the Cstudio Home Textured Stonewashed Pillows in Slate Gray. The Tan Lambskin Accent Pillow Cover gives his room some extra warmth and accentuates the horse print above his bed, while the Cstudio Home Woven Shag Pillow Cover on the “sister chair” adds texture and light.

Thanks for reading and I hope you’re enjoying your own fall bedding refresh!
