Hi! My name is Courtney Ramsey and I’m a stay at home mama to our darling little (almost two year old) Violet. On most days, you can find me sharing bits of our lives over on Instagram, chasing our little one around, and managing the guest house we rent on Airbnb. My husband and I currently live in Oklahoma City in a historic home that was built in 1927.
Since our home is older, it has quite a few quirks. One of those is that it’s pretty difficult to get the entire house to be cool during summer or warm during the winter. So when fall rolls around, it’s time to add extra layers to our bed and pull out all the cozy throw blankets. I’m obsessed with all of the beautiful bedding options at The Company Store! This year, I’ve combined several of my favorites by layering up our bedding for colder weather.
It was time for an upgrade to our cozy pillows & sheets. Sometimes it’s just nice to start over with the basics! Then, I layered with a chunky, organic gray, king size blanket. I tend to stick to white for our bed, but I loved this neutral for layering. My husband is probably going to roll his eyes when he sees how many layers I’ve put on our bed! He would rather have the heat on and one blanket. I would rather it be cold, the fan on, and have five or six blankets on our bed—as you will soon be able to tell.
I kept the linen bedding we already had, but added a big fluffy down comforter at the end of our bed for two reasons: Because it looks pretty, and partly so I can pull that up on extra cold nights. I’ve never been one for a pristinely-made bed. I always tend to go for messy layers that make you want to crawl back in. All these extra blankets and comforters add to the coziness I need for cold weather. And of course, I had to add one more throw on the bed just for fun (love this pale gray color).
A bed that makes you want to crawl right in with a cup of coffee and a good book is one extra cozy bed!
