The Comfort Mix: Inspiring Hotels, Lofts, Desks, and more!

Each week, we round up our favorite posts dealing with all things comfort. Share some finds of your own in the comments below!

  • Don’t overlook hotels when you’re looking for decor ideas! Check out Design Hotels for beautiful photos of accommodations that place a large emphasis on the look of their rooms. These rooms are inviting, appealing to the eye, and make the most out of a given square footage. These aspects can be applied to our own homes as well! We especially enjoy the look of the Villa La Banane in Saint Barthelemy with its bright white bedding and pops of orange and red.
  • Living in a loft has always been one of our dreams – high ceilings, an open floor plan, and industrial details are things we’d enjoy decorating around. This remodeled loft in Barcelona as photographed in Mi Casa Revisita is such an inspiration! The majority of the decor is neutral but pops of pink and natural light brighten up the entire space. The vintage refrigerator is a nice touch!
  • Who doesn’t love chocolate cake? Especially if it’s served in something unexpected like a skillet! Check out Let’s Dish Recipes for the yummy and easy-to-follow recipe. We smiled when we read that Danelle just placed the skillet at the center of the table, gave everyone a spoon, and let everyone dig in! Talk about a party pleasing dish!
  • Take a look at this adorable and fun DIY project for a Plush Fox Pillow from Elsie and Emma of A Beautiful Mess! While we offer some beautiful decor pillows of our own, sometimes assembling one by hand adds a personal touch that makes for a great present for friends and family. You can choose colors and fabrics that have some meaning to you or the recipient.
  • What does your desk look like? Could it use a bit of maintenance and tidying up! Ours sure does and we know we’re not alone! Visit Mackenzie Horan‘s Desk Du Jour section for endless photos of impeccable work areas.
