Arts and Crafts Festivals

One of our favorite summer activities is visiting craft shows and fairs — they’re a great way to find unique home décor accents and gifts.  No matter where you’re located, there’s sure to be a craft or art fair somewhere nearby this summer.

We love craft shows because they’re packed with one-of-a-kind items, including furniture, pottery, jewelry, clothing and unusual decorative art. You can speak with the artists directly, the pride and love coming through as they tell you how they made it or where they got their inspiration. Many artists and crafters are amazingly talented – you never know when you’ll acquire a piece from an up-and-coming master. Years from now, maybe you’ll be able to say you “discovered” a true American treasure!

Another aspect of craft fairs and art shows we love is… road trip! We’re suckers for driving down small highways and back roads, exploring new territory (even if it’s just a few miles from home). Finding some treasure at the end of a drive makes it even more special!

Even better, most art shows and craft fairs are reasonably priced – or even offer free admission.

Here are two websites that list art fairs and shows around the country:
